Naza Forza / Hafei Lobo / Hafei Brio

The Hafei Lobo  ( 哈飛路寶) or “Hafei Lu Bao” is a stylish, fuel-efficient city car designed by the well-known Italian design house Pininfarina and was produced by the Chinese manufacturer  Hafei Motor from 2002 until about 2010. Its chassis was sourced from British company Lotus. The car was produced in license in Malaysia by Naza Automotive as Naza Sutera, later renamed as Naza Forza and was exported to Thailand, Sri Lanka. Hafei Motor exported the Hafei Lobo (Lubao) to many countries, among them Russia, Romania, Iran, and countries in South America. The Hafei Lobo was just one of many cars manufactured by Hafei Motors.

It came in came in two engine sizes: Both a 1.0L was avaialble and a 1.1 L straight 4 engine that is an all-aluminium DOHC 16-Valve design from Harbin Dong-An Engine Manufacturing Company, a joint venture between Harbin Aviation, MCIC Holdings (Malaysian) & Mitsubishi Motors which has an output of about 65 PS (48 kW). Transmission is a 5-speed manual. It features a high level of equipment, power steering, including dual airbags,  door intrusion bars, MP3 CD tuner & 6 speakers, 60:40 folding rear seats and height-adjustable ELR seatbelts.

Due to the consolidation of the Chinese Automotive Industry, Hafei Motors was absorbed by a lager company and Hafei is no longer producing automobiles. However, there is an active aftermarket in China and spare parts are luckily readily available from various sources.

Hafei was absorbed by Changan Automobiles in 2009, one of the largest Chinese car manufacturers with a production of over 3 million vehicles annually; however, sadly enough, the Lobo is no longer in production.
